Congressional Issues 2010
ROY
BLUNT
The Incumbent and His Heir Apparent

I believe there are many good reasons to not vote for the incumbent Congressman Roy Blunt.

But I want to win the election by getting the votes of those who support the idea of "Liberty Under God."

Accordingly, I have spent very little time bashing Roy Blunt, and most of my time promoting "Liberty Under God."

If you wish to know more about Roy Blunt, there is a great deal of info on the Internet. Here is a good place to start:

Update 2010

Now that Roy Blunt is no longer in the race for Missouri's 7th Congressional seat, this page needs to be updated.

But not much.

The Republican nominee, Billy Long, is Roy Blunt 2.0

That's a prediction.

It's a prediction that anyone who goes to Washington as a Republican will conform to the Republican Party agenda -- unless that candidate is a Constitutional purist and maverick like Ron Paul.

As the "Tea Party" movement become co-opted by the Republican Party establishment, it is shifting away from Ron Paul constitutionalists and putting its support behind establishment candidates like Roy Blunt and Billy Long.

Note the following, from Chuck Purgason's website:

  • Roy Blunt voted for the largest expansion of Medicare in history, adding $1.3 trillion to taxpayers' burdens. Rep. Blunt also persuaded 26 Republicans to switch their votes to ensure the passing of the Wall Street Bailout (TARP)
  • Roy Blunt is a top receiver of political donations from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, his two children are lobbyists, and his second wife is a well-known U.S. Senate lobbyist.
  • Roy Blunt disregarded Civil Liberties and Due Process by voting for the USA Patriot Act and its subsequent renewals.
  • Rep. Blunt helped pass Bush's "No Child Left Behind" Act, which cost taxpayers $26.5 billion and gave more control over schools to the Federal Government.

At that time the bill focused on insurance coverage of mental illness and addiction, and employer and insurance practices involving genetic information. Senate vote 213 and House vote 681 contained the economic package.
