Death
by Government

The 20th century — the first universally secular century — is the most violent century in recorded human history.

Most of the violence has been committed by "governments."

Most of the violence committed by "governments" has been against innocent, non-combatant civilians.

Most of the violence committed by "governments" against innocent, non-combatant civilians has been against "their own" citizens, not external "enemies."

The statistics to prove these assertions have been assembled by Prof. R.J. Rummel:

Democide: Murder by Government

Ten Thousand Government Murders per DAY

Last year in America, over 10,000 people were illegally murdered by gangs, mafia hit-men, and sometimes family and neighbors.

But in the 20th century, about 10,000 were murdered each and every single day -- legally -- by governments.

Do the Math:

Prof. Rummel's calculations of 20th Century Democide: 262,000,000

  • divide by 100 to get yearly average: 2,620,000 per year
  • divide by 365 to get daily average: 7,178.08219178... per day

Rummel's numbers are not on the high side. Rummel does not include combat deaths and executions in his definition of "democide."

World War II casualties often include civilian deaths which Rummel would classify as "democide.":

  • 72,000,000 total casualties = 720,000 deaths per year = 1,972.6 per day
  • 25,000,000 combat deaths = 150,000 deaths per year = 684.9 per day
  • This is only WWII, and does not include WWI or any of hundreds of other wars during the 20th century.

We're confident that an average of 10,000 people have been murdered by governments every single day (on average) during the 20th century.

This number does not include abortions, which are legalized murders. Today, approximately 135,000 human beings are put to death every day through abortion.

Doesn't the Government protect our Right to Life?

Governments claim to protect their people from murderers. There are only a few thousand murders per year. Thus, in order to have a "government" protect us from one death, we allow the government to kill hundreds of times more people than it saves.

Rudolph Rummel Talks About the Miracle of Liberty and Peace

Former U.S. Attorney General Ramsey Clark headed an international team of jurists and scholars and convicted the United States of War Crimes in the "Gulf War." Their findings shock the conscience.

Do You Care About What
God Really Cares About?

Many people claim to be on God's Side. What does God really stand for? What does God stand against? If you believe the Bible tells us anything at all about God, you must admit that God hates violence.

The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. {12} So God looked upon the earth, and indeed it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth. {13} And God said to Noah, "The end of all flesh has come before Me, for the earth is filled with violence through them; and behold, I will destroy them with the earth.
Genesis 6:11-13

If you don't believe the account of Noah's Flood is literal, you must still acknowledge the point of the story: God hates violence

Yet you won't hear a word about violence in most churches. You seldom hear practical advice on how to follow the Prince of Peace in a world filled with vengeance. When the government declares a "national emergency," or "martial law," "good Christians" are the first to don the brownshirts and kill their brothers and sisters in Christ when the government declares them to be "enemies of the State."

"Christian patriots" support the moral legitimacy of organized murder. This is incredible. They need to read their Bibles and experience a "paradigm shift." Christians must never kill for the Empire.

America's Founding Fathers:
Government
does not protect us; religion and morality does.

America is not based on the premise that "the government" brings peace and prosperity.
America is based on the premise that the practice of Christianity brings peace and prosperity.

Christianity leads to Paradise;
Atheism leads to Democide

The Soviet Government's Holocaust
by Michael Chapman

"The Socialist Workers' Paradise" = the death of millions of workers

The premise of Enlightenment Humanism is the premise of Satan in the Garden of Eden: every human being can be his own god, determining "good" and "evil" for himself. Christianity commands us to be the servant of others, to love our neighbor. Humanist philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre admitted that if "God is dead," my neighbor is the devil -- an intolerable rival god.

If America's Founding Fathers could see where Enlightenment Humanism has led -- to secular governments that have claimed messianic divinity and annihilated hundreds of millions of human beings -- they would have repudiated the Enlightenment more strongly. They would have seen that the doctrine of the Trinity is the foundation of social order. They would agree more fervently that the Bible is a textbook of law and political science.
