Speaking from Louisiana on the Oil Spill
The
White House Press Office: – In his weekly address,
President Barack Obama underscored his commitment to helping the
people of the Gulf Coast recover and rebuild from the BP oil spill
that has threatened their livelihoods. On Friday, the
President heard from local residents and small business owners about
the hardships that they are facing as a result of this catastrophe.
The Administration has mobilized the largest response to an
environmental disaster of this kind in the history of our country to
clean up the BP oil spill. Additionally, the federal government
is working to ensure that BP and other companies are held accountable
for damages and that aggressive new standards are put into place
to avoid a disaster in the future. (continued
below)
The federal government only has the powers granted to it --
"enumerated" -- in the
Constitution.
The "General Welfare" clause is no
exception to this principle.
"States Rights" --
most government should be carried out on a local level.
The Constitution created a federal government with
very limited powers, bound down by
the "chains of the constitution."
The Bush-Obama Regime believes it has vast, unlimited powers to
cure all diseases, fund all causes, and bring salvation.
These are the reasons given by Osama bin Laden for declaring a
"fatwah" (holy war) against the U.S.
All of these accusations are true.
All of these government actions are contrary to the
Constitution.
The biggest cause of terrorism --
and the most dangerous threat to the personal safety and
security of ordinary Americans like you and me -- is the Federal
Government of the United States.
America's Founders envisioned the American people, acting as
businessmen, humanitarians, and missionaries, engaging in
commercial and charitable activities around the world, bringing
peace and receiving the admiration of the world.

regard to foreign nations is in extending our commercial
relations to have with them as little political
connection as possible."

Bush's unconstitutional military invasion
of Iraq has destroyed Christianity in that country.
Under Saddam Hussein's secular government, Christians in
Iraq had greater freedom than in most other Arab nations,
and one of the largest Christian populations in the Muslim
world was in Iraq.
Iraq is now an Islamic theocracy under Sharia law. The
Christian population has been destroyed. Christian Churches
are burned and terrorized with impunity.
Obama is following in Bush's unconstitutional, anti-Christian
footsteps.
This money-creation system is immoral and unconstitutional. It
steals from the poor and elderly.
America's Founding Fathers would conclude that The First
Amendment had been repealed
There is no freedom of religion: the U.S. is officially atheistic.
There is no freedom of the press: the media is the lapdog of
"the Establishment."
Everyone who signed the Constitution, if they were here today,
would urge the repeal of the Constitution and the abolition
of the government created by that document.
I’m speaking to you from
Caminada Bay in Grand Isle, Louisiana, one of the first places to
feel the devastation wrought by the oil spill in the Gulf of
Mexico. While I was here, at Camerdelle’s Live Bait shop,
I met with a group of local residents and small business owners.
Personal anecdotes
are not a good basis for public policy.
Folks like Floyd Lasseigne, a
fourth-generation oyster fisherman. This is the time of year
when he ordinarily earns a lot of his income. But his oyster
bed, along the north side of Grand Isle, has likely been destroyed
by the spill. Terry Vegas had a similar story. He quit
the 8th grade to become a shrimper with his grandfather.
Ever since, he’s earned his living during shrimping season –
working long, grueling days so that he could earn enough money to
support himself year round. But today, the waters where
he’s spent his years are closed. And every day, as the
spill worsens, he loses hope that he’ll be able to return to the
life he built. “You can put a price on a lost season,”
he’s said. “But not a lost heritage.”
Personal anecdote.
The effects of the spill reach
beyond the shoreline. I also spoke with Patti Rigaud. For 30
years, she’s owned a small convenience store – a store opened
by her father. She depends on the sales generated by tourism
each summer. But this year, most of the boats that would
line these docks are nowhere to be seen. Dudley Gaspard, who
owns the Sand Dollar Marina and Hotel, has been hit hard as well.
Normally, this time of year, rooms are filling up and tackle is
flying off the shelves. But he too has been devastated by
the decline in tourism and the suspension of fishing in the waters
off the Louisiana Coast.
Personal anecdote.
Their stories are familiar to
many in Grand Isle and throughout the Gulf region. Often
families have been here for generations, earning a living, and
making a life, that’s tied to the water – that’s tied to the
magnificent coasts and natural bounty of this place. Here,
this spill has not just damaged livelihoods. It’s upended
whole communities. And the fury people feel is not just
about the money they’ve lost. They’ve been through tough
times before. It’s about the wrenching recognition that
this time their lives may never be the same.
Personal anecdote.
These folks work hard. They
meet their responsibilities. But now because of a manmade
catastrophe – one that’s not their fault and that’s beyond
their control – their lives have been thrown into turmoil.
It’s brutally unfair. It’s wrong. And what I told
these men and women – and what I have said since the beginning
of this disaster – is that I’m going to stand with the people
of the Gulf Coast until they are made whole.
Personal anecdote.
That’s why from the beginning,
we’ve mobilized on every front to contain and clean up this
spill. I’ve authorized the deployment of 17,500 National
Guard troops to aid in the response. More than 20,000 people
are currently working around the clock to protect waters and
coastlines. We’ve convened hundreds of top scientists and
engineers from around the world. More than 1,900 vessels are
in the Gulf assisting in the clean up. More than 4.3 million
feet of boom have been deployed with another 2.9 million feet of
boom available – enough to stretch over 1,300 miles. And
17 staging areas are in place across Louisiana, Mississippi,
Alabama, and Florida to rapidly defend sensitive shorelines.
In short, this is the largest response to an environmental
disaster of this kind in the history of our country.
We’ve also ordered BP to pay
economic injury claims, and we will make sure they pay every
single dime owed to the people along the Gulf Coast. The
Small Business Administration has stepped in to help businesses by
approving loans and allowing deferrals of existing loan payments.
And this week, the federal government sent BP a preliminary bill
for $69 million to pay back American taxpayers for some of the
costs of the response so far. In addition, after an
emergency safety review, we’re putting in place aggressive new
operating standards for offshore drilling. And I’ve
appointed a bipartisan commission to look into the causes of this
spill. If laws are inadequate –laws will be changed.
If oversight was lacking – it will be strengthened. And if
laws were broken – those responsible will be brought to justice.
But the federal
government has already passed laws limiting the liability of the
oil companies.
Now, over the last few days BP
has placed a cap over the well, and it appears they’re making
progress in trying to pump oil to the surface to keep it from
leaking into the water. But as has been the case since the
beginning of this crisis, we are prepared for the worst, even as
we hope that BP’s efforts bring better news than we’ve
received before. We also know that regardless of the outcome
of this attempt, there will still to be some spillage until the
relief wells are completed. And there will continue to be a
massive cleanup ahead of us.
So we will continue to leverage
every resource at our disposal to protect coastlines, to clean up
the oil, to hold BP and other companies accountable for damages,
to begin to restore the bounty and beauty of this region – and
to aid the hardworking people of the Gulf as they rebuild their
businesses and communities. And I want to urge all Americans
to do what you can as well – including visiting this area.
The vast majority of beaches are pristine and open for business.
These are hard times in Louisiana
and across the Gulf Coast, an area that has already seen more than
its fair share of troubles. But what we have also seen these
past few weeks is that – even in the face of adversity – the
men and women of the Gulf have displayed incredible determination.
They have met this terrible catastrophe with seemingly boundless
strength and character in defense of their way of life. What
we owe the people of this region is a commitment by our nation to
match the resilience of all the people I’ve met along the Gulf
Coast. That is our mission. And it’s one we will
fulfill.

member Robert Reich asks, Could
we really take over BP? By "we" he means the
government. Salon.com interviews him:
Q: Why should we trust the
government?
A: This isn't an ideological contest about how little you trust a
giant oil company versus the federal government. It's a matter of
accountability. BP's primary responsibility is to its
shareholders. And it will cut corners -- as it has before -- if
that's the best way to maximize the value of their shares. But
only the government, through the president, is directly
accountable to the American public, and responsible for protecting
it.
What is the difference between "shareholders" and
"the American public?" Are not these the same people? BP
shares plunged. Duh. The head of the Mineral Management
Service, which regulates offshore oil drilling, resigned last
Thursday. Who is most being held accountable?

Americans Should
Celebrate Christmas
365 Days
a Year”
The word "Christ" means "King." The Message
of Christmas and the Principles set forth by the Christ (the
Messiah) who came that first Christmas are the real solution to
America's problems. The Federal Government is at war with Christmas
and "The
Way of Peace" announced by the Prince
of Peace. The Government should be on His
shoulders (Isaiah
9:6-7). Abolishing a Messianic State
is the only appropriate way to honor the Messiah. Otherwise
Christmas becomes mass hypocrisy.
The Word became flesh. The Creator of the universe
becomes a human being. He came to His own, but His own did
not receive Him, preferring darkness rather than light.
John the Baptist prepares the way for the Messiah, as
prophesied of Elijah.
As you read the
Gospel accounts, ask yourself how you would react if you knew
these accounts were really true. Not just true in some
"religious" sense, but reported in the New York
Times, proven in a court of law, or acknowledged by your
personal hero. (How do you know something
is true? Do you even have any "heroes?") How should
you change your life if your Creator became a human being? How
should Washington D.C. react if this human being claimed to be
the true Ruler?
The Prophet Micah predicted
that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. Jesus'
parents lived in Nazereth. Therefore God predestined
Caesar to issue a decree (probably relating to taxes) that
would bring Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem before Jesus was
born.
Bush claims the same global
power of confiscation and migration as Caesar did. Thousands
of Christians have been forced to move out of Iraq to make way
for Bush's Islamic Theocracy.
An army of angels announces the birth of the Messiah,
saying,
“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace to
those with whom He is pleased!”
Man's chief
end is to glorify God and live in
peace. The Bush Administration's chief end is to erect a
"wall of separation"
between God and government so that the State gives no glory to
God, and to wage war, thereby "stimulating the
economy."
“Now when they had seen Him, they made widely
known the saying which was told them concerning this
Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things
which were told them by the shepherds.”
When Herod got word of the birth of a rival king, he
behaved in a perfectly logical way (for someone who wants
to protect his power): he massacred all male babies
the age of Jesus. Herod recognized that Jesus was a threat
to Herod's power.
Every day in America 4,000
unborn babies are murdered. These babies must threaten
something.
Millions of Americans who call themselves Christians, on
the other hand, are no threat to tyranny.
None of them are being killed. Bush has killed a thousand
times more human beings than Herod did, and confiscated a
billion times more wealth than Herod did.
Herod's son Antipas played a small role in the execution
of Jesus Christ. But Jesus rose from the dead, was
enthroned on the throne of David at the right hand of God,
and assumed the rightful role of King over all nations.

their families the resurrection of Christ, His victory over
death. We will remember that He gave His body and His
blood—washing clean the faults and the

Orange, Calif: So many Christian commentators today
make the claim that virtually all founding fathers were really
members of anti-Christian secret societies, e.g., Masonic orders.
Your approach to the history of the founding period of our nation is
that the Founding fathers were Christian and by implication that the
intent behind the Constitution was overwhelmingly Christian. Could
you comment on the difference between these perspectives?

Michael Steele, chairman of the
Republican National Committee, delivered the
GOP Weekly Address
President Barack Obama promised
that he “won’t stop fighting to open up government,” and
that he would have “the most transparent administration in
history.” Really?
The MainstreamMedia
would have urge the impeachment of George Bush for
committing felonies like the ones described here.
Not to say that Bush should not have been
impeached. He should have. But the media is biased in favor
of Democrats, despite its claimed neutrality and objectivity.
Of course, it’s one thing to
keep that promise when you think it’ll help you politically.
The real test of a man’s word is if he keeps it when it’s
inconvenient, embarrassing or potentially damaging. On this
test, the President and his people have failed.
There’s a reason we have a
law that prohibits Federal officials from offering things of
value to people for political gain. It’s called transparency.
And the White House’s efforts to use federal appointments to
entice candidates out of competitive Democratic primaries goes
directly against the Obama Administrations claims of openness
and transparency.
From day one of this current
flap involving Congressman Joe Sestak and now Andrew Romanoff,
the White House efforts to deny, obfuscate, and mislead have
only served to raise suspicions even further.
Three months ago, when
Congressman Sestak claimed the White House offered him a job in
return for dropping his primary challenge against Democrat
incumbent Arlen Specter, the White House flatly denied it.
After Sestak refused to recant
his version of events, the White House finally conceded that
some conversation happened but their message was “trust us, it
wasn’t inappropriate, so move along, nothing to see here.”
This exoneration-by-fiat
didn’t pass the laugh test. It’s not up to the White House
to judge the ethics of their behavior – that right is reserved
for the American people once all the facts are on the table. So
the demand for these facts continued.
After three months of intense
political pressure, we were finally served with a memo from the
President’s lawyer, admitting that, contrary to previous
denials, in fact, the White House did enlist former President
Bill Clinton to offer the Congressman an allegedly unpaid
position.
However, the memo raises far
more questions than it answers.
First, the law doesn’t
prohibit offers of only paid positions. So, offering the
Congressman an unpaid position does nothing to exonerate Bill
Clinton or White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. Second,
Sestak wouldn’t be able to accept a position on a Presidential
advisory board and remain in Congress anyway, which casts doubt
about whether this was really the job the White House offered.
Third, the memo claims multiple
conversations between President Clinton and Mr. Sestak during
June and July of 2009. But Congressman Sestak insisted four
times, just on Tuesday, that there was only one brief
conversation. So who’s lying?
Fourth, the memo alleges that
President Obama knew nothing of all of these conversations.
Now, why would the White House
enlist the help of such a high-profile surrogate like former
President Bill Clinton - on “multiple” occasions, without
the knowledge of President Obama - for months-long negotiations
over such a low-profile, unpaid position, and all with a
Congressman who couldn’t even accept the job anyway?
And now we know that this is
only part of a larger pattern of backroom, Chicago-style
politics. Andrew Romanoff, who’s challenging Democrat
incumbent Michael Bennet for the Colorado Senate Democrat
nomination, was offered a choice of one of three jobs by Rahm
Emanuel’s deputy Jim Messina if he would drop out of the
primary.
Again, the White House first
denied the allegations when they came from anonymous
Administration whistle-blowers. But once the actual email from
Messina was released by Romanoff, who probably didn’t like
being called a liar by the White House, the story changed:
again, the jobs were offered, but nothing inappropriate
happened.
After all of the stonewalling
and denying, what is the White House’s latest defense? It was
just business as usual.
Enough is enough. If Rahm
Emanuel has been offering government goodies to inconvenient
politicians threatening Democrat incumbents, then it’s time
for him to resign. If it comes out that the President knew about
any of it, then we have a larger problem. And, if offering
political appointments in exchange for sitting out of a campaign
is the President’s proposal for “job-creation,” then
we’re in for more economic misery.
The time has come for more than
just self-exonerating claims from the President’s lawyer. The
Department of Justice must step in and assign an impartial
referee, either in the form of a special investigator or an
independent counsel, who can sort out the facts and answer the
burning question – what did the White House offer to Sestak
and Romanoff, who authorized the offer, who else knew about it
and what was the expected trade-off for accepting the offer?
The President promised
transparency. All we have right now is a series of transparent
cover-ups. So much for “change you can believe in. ####
The men who threw tea into the Boston Harbor over a tax of 3 pence
per pound would not be happy with a tax ten times greater on
every gallon of gas. Those who took up muskets over a total tax burden
of less than 3% would not be happy with
the fact that the federal government now takes more
than half of everything you earn.
Today it is illegal for public school teachers to teach their
students that the Declaration of Independence is really true (and not
just an outdated historical document). The federal government is
clearly at war with everything the Founding Fathers stood for.
America's greatest Americans would abolish
today's federal government.
Muskets are Not an Option
There are two reasons why we should not take up arms to pull off
the violent overthrow of the federal
government, even if America's Founders would surely do so. First, the
feds have nukes. Second, violent revolution is unChristian and
unBiblical. We must beat our swords into
plowshares and use persuasion to
abolish tyranny. This is time for a
revolution of ideas.
Revolution Won't Come in a Day
John Adams once wrote that the American
Revolution began in 1761, when Massachusetts attorney James Otis
began legal challenges to the Writs
of Assistance. He lost the case, but "American
independence," Adams wrote, "was
then and there born." Now do the math. That means it took 15
years to convince the rest of America to declare Independence
(1776). Then another seven years of war was required before a
Peace Treaty was signed (1783), and then six years before the
Constitution was finally ratified (1789). That's almost 30 years. (And
Jefferson said we shouldn't go 20
years without another rebellion!) How can we hope to convince
Americans to fight for principles they were never taught in government
schools? We need to be in this battle for the long term. "Eternal

The FDA "outlawed" the use of Estriol, an estrogen

The practice of medicine is moving to chemically identical to
human hormones and away from animal hormones. Learn why the FDA

Asset Forfeiture
If the government suspects you used your house or car in a
crime, they can take it and sell it at auction. They don't even
have to prove your guilt. They call this practice civil asset
forfeiture, but it's really theft. It violates the 4th, 5th,
6th, 8th, 9th and 14th Amendments. It also encourages law
enforcement to put profits before justice. Tell Congress to end
civil asset forfeiture.
Support
an Iraq Referendum
Americans keep debating when, how, or if to leave Iraq. Maybe
we should ask the Iraqi people what they want. After all, it's
their country. Tell Congress to request that the Iraqi
government hold a public referendum on the U.S. occupation. Learn

"Cap
and Trade" is not the way
The politicians seem to be unifying around "cap and
trade" as a way to cut CO2 emissions. If they take this
step it may be the largest increase in the size, scope, and
intrusiveness of government since the creation of Medicare.

Waste
Big government prospers through failure. Each new failure is
used to justify more spending and new powers. Wasteful spending

Stop
the War for Terror U.S. policy has inflamed the Middle East. It has made
terrorism more likely rather than less. We seem to be fighting
a war for terror, rather than on

would devastate our economy, disrupt world oil supplies, and
