Notes and Summary of the President's Address:
Memorial Day
Honoring the Choice to Kill

The White House Press Office: On this Memorial Day weekend, President Barack Obama called on the American people to join him in paying tribute to America’s veterans, servicemen and women – particularly those who have made the ultimate sacrifice - and their families.  America’s troops and their families embody what is best in America, and the American people have a responsibility to serve them as well as they have served us.  (continued below)

How the President Differs from the American vision of "Liberty Under God":

America is a conflict of visions. The Declaration of Independence speaks of our "firm reliance on the Protection of Divine Providence." But as Oliver Cromwell put it, "Trust in God, but keep your powder dry." America is a Christian nation, but America's War for Independence was completely unChristian. So while the President differs from the American vision of "Liberty Under God," he is perfectly in line with America's tradition of war and militarism.

  • The Constitution created a federal government with very limited powers, bound down by the "chains of the constitution." The Bush-Obama Regime believes it has vast, unlimited powers to bring salvation.

  • America was founded on the philosophy of "Liberty Under God."
    • "Liberty" means freedom from government suppression of ideas and confiscation of wealth
    • "Under God" means we have a personal responsibility to love God and neighbor.
  • The original American Dream: Everyone dwelling safely under his own Vine & Fig Tree
    • Human beings are endowed with the right to property by God, not the government.
  • The Constitution created a federal government of very limited power and few functions.
  • Most politicians who take an oath to "support the Constitution" are ignorant of its most basic assumptions.
    • The federal government only has the powers granted to it -- "enumerated" -- in the Constitution.
    • The "General Welfare" clause is no exception to this principle.
    • "States Rights" -- most government should be carried out on a local level.
  • America was founded as a "City upon a Hill," a Christian nation from which the Gospel would be promoted around the world.
  • This new government was not intended to be the policeman of the world.
  • The American people, acting as businessmen, humanitarians, and missionaries, would engage in commercial and charitable activities around the world.
    • The great rule of conduct for us, in regard to foreign nations is in extending our commercial relations to have with them as little political connection as possible."
      — Washington, Farewell Address (1796) [Washington’s emphasis]

    • I deem [one of] the essential principles of our government, and consequently [one] which ought to shape its administration,…peace, commerce, and honest friendship with all nations, entangling alliances with none.
      — Jefferson, First Inaugural Address (1801)

  • Bush's unconstitutional military invasion of Iraq has destroyed Christianity in that country.
    • Under Saddam Hussein's secular government, Christians in Iraq had greater freedom than in most other Arab nations, and one of the largest Christian populations in the Muslim world was in Iraq.
    • Iraq is now an Islamic theocracy under Sharia law. The Christian population has been destroyed. Christian Churches are burned and terrorized with impunity.
  • Obama is following in Bush's footsteps.
  • America's Founders spoke of America as "an Experiment in Liberty" (1787-1887)
    • The "experiment" was a success: a Free Market made America the most prosperous and admired nation in history
  • In the 20th century, the experiment in liberty was replaced with another experiment: an experiment in central planning
  • The original American dream of personal, private ownership, has been replaced with private indebtedness and public control.
  • "No Taxation Without Representation" - a rallying cry of the American Revolution.
  • Taxation is a relatively unimportant federal revenue generator. The fed now creates money out of thin air
  • This money-creation system is immoral and unconstitutional. It steals from the poor and elderly.
  • America's Founding Fathers would conclude that The First Amendment had been repealed
    • There is no freedom of religion: the U.S. is officially atheistic.
    • There is no freedom of the press: the media is the lapdog of "the Establishment."
  • The Invisible Hand of the Free Market works better than the Visible Fist of Government

Saturday Morning Radio Address

Another Perspective:
"
Liberty Under God"

This Memorial Day weekend, Americans will gather on lawns and porches, fire up the grill, and enjoy the company of family, friends, and neighbors. But this is not only a time for celebration, it is also a time to reflect on what this holiday is all about; to pay tribute to our fallen heroes; and to remember the servicemen and women who cannot be with us this year because they are standing post far from home – in Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the world. Memorial Day is largely just the first day of summer. Nobody can object to everything done on a 3-day holiday.
The issue is whether we should "pay tribute" to those who chose to fight.

I say we should not honor that choice.

On Friday, I traveled to Annapolis, where I spoke at the Commencement of the United States Naval Academy. It was an honor to address some of America’s newest sailors and Marines as their Commander-in-Chief. Looking out at all of those young men and women, I was reminded of the extraordinary service that they are rendering to our country. And I was reminded, too, of all of the sacrifices that their parents, siblings, and loved ones make each day on their behalf and on our behalf.
Our fighting men and women – and the military families who love them – embody what is best in America. And we have a responsibility to serve all of them as well as they serve all of us. I think what best embodies America is the idea of America as a "City upon a Hill." Early America faced terrorists in the form of "Indians," but instead of "bombing them back to the Stone Age," Jefferson appropriated money for missionaries, and "the evangelization of the heathen." This embodies what is best in America.

As America became secularized, the treatment of the heathen grew more barbaric.

Another aspect of what is best in America is innovation, hard work, competition, and bringing the fruits of our labor to the needy around the world. In short, commerce, not armies.

And yet, all too often in recent years and decades, we, as a nation, have failed to live up to that responsibility. We have failed to give them the support they need or pay them the respect they deserve. That is a betrayal of the sacred trust that America has with all who wear – and all who have worn – the proud uniform of our country. This is a pitch for welfare.
And that is a sacred trust I am committed to keeping as President of the United States. That is why I will send our servicemen and women into harm’s way only when it is necessary, and ensure that they have the training and equipment they need when they enter the theater of war. Democrat rhetoric for Republican policies.
That is why we are building a 21st century Department of Veterans Affairs with the largest single-year funding increase in three decades. It’s a commitment that will help us provide our veterans with the support and benefits they have earned, and expand quality health care to a half million more veterans. ... along with all other government programs
That is why, this week, I signed a bill that will eliminate some of the waste and inefficiency in our defense projects – reform that will better protect our nation, better protect our troops, and save taxpayers tens of billions of dollars.
And that is why we are laying a new foundation for our economy so that when our troops return home and take off the uniform, they can find a good job, provide for their families, and earn a college degree on a Post-9/11 GI Bill that will offer them the same opportunity to live out their dreams that was afforded our greatest generation.  More welfare.
These are some of the ways we can, must, and will honor the service of our troops and the sacrifice of their families. But we must also do our part, not only as a nation, but as individuals for those Americans who are bearing the burden of wars being fought on our behalf. That can mean sending a letter or a care package to our troops overseas. It can mean volunteering at a clinic where a wounded warrior is being treated or bringing supplies to a homeless veterans center. Or it can mean something as simple as saying "thank you" to a veteran you pass on the street.

The "Works of Mercy" are also appropriate for AIDS victims, but not to honor bad choices they may have made.

That is what Memorial Day is all about. It is about doing all we can to repay the debt we owe to those men and women who have answered our nation’s call by fighting under its flag. It is about recognizing that we, as a people, did not get here by accident or good fortune alone. It’s about remembering the hard winter of 1776, when our fragile American experiment seemed doomed to fail; and the early battles of 1861 when a union victory was anything but certain; and the summer of 1944, when the fate of a world rested on a perilous landing unlike any ever attempted. Was America a better nation after Lincoln trashed the Constitution? Are blacks better in violent, drug-ridden inner-city schools and federal housing projects after "a union victory" than they were in the largely Christian South?

Would America's Founding Fathers have approved of $3,000 billions to kill millions of Iraqis and create an Islamic Theocracy? Click here or find out more about the use of Phosphorus weapons on the civilian population in Iraq
It’s about remembering each and every one of those moments when our survival as a nation came down not simply to the wisdom of our leaders or the resilience of our people, but to the courage and valor of our fighting men and women. For it is only by remembering these moments that we can truly appreciate a simple lesson of American life – that what makes all we are and all we aspire to be possible are the sacrifices of an unbroken line of Americans that stretches back to our nation’s founding. They all died in vain.
That is the meaning of this holiday. That is a truth at the heart of our history. And that is a lesson I hope all Americans will carry with them this Memorial Day weekend and beyond.
Thank you.

Restoring America's Greatness by
Celebrating Christmas all year long

The Message of Christmas and the Principles set forth by the Christ (the Messiah) who came that first Christmas are the real solution to America's problems. The Federal Government is at war with Christmas and "The Way of Peace" announced by the Prince of Peace.

John 1:1-18 - The Incarnation
The Word became flesh. The Creator of the universe becomes a human being. He came to His own, but His own did not receive Him, preferring darkness rather than light.
"The State is God walking on Earth"

The 2 parties are cooperating rival sects in the world's most powerful religious cult.

Luke 1:1-4
Eyewitnesses of the Messiah recorded their testimony. Co-Founder of the Harvard Law School says their testimony would prove the resurrection in any court of law in America, at one time a Christian nation.
No longer a Christian nation, American courts routinely release the guilty and condemn the innocent.
Matthew 1:1-17
Jesus was a descendant of King David.
Obama is a distant cousin of both Dick Cheney and George Bush

How Bush's grandfather helped Hitler's rise to power

Luke 3:23-38
Jesus was a descendant of Abraham.
All those who submit to Jesus as the Messiah (the rightful king of the earth) inherit the promises made to Abraham
Those who reject the Messiah do not inherit the promises made to Abraham, even though Bush defends their right to do so.
Luke 1:5-25
John the Baptist prepares the way for the Messiah, as prophesied of Elijah.
As you read the Gospel accounts, ask yourself how you would react if you knew these accounts were really true. Not just true in some "religious" sense, but reported in the New York Times, proven in a court of law, or acknowledged by your personal hero.  (How do you know something is true? Do you even have any "heroes?") How should you change your life if your Creator became a human being? How should Washington D.C. react if this human being claimed to be the true Ruler?
Luke 1:26-38
The Angel Gabriel announces the conception of the Messiah, who will be given the throne of David.
Luke 1:39-45
The unborn John recognizes the mother of the Messiah.
Bush-Obama would chop the unborn John and the unborn Jesus into stem cells for "medical research."
Luke 1:46-56 - "The Magnificat"
“He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.” Luke 1:51
The Bush Administration is filled with the power-hungry, who commit adultery in reality or in fantasy.
Luke 1:67-80
Zacharias, John the Baptist's father, prophecies the birth of Jesus the anti-king.
The expectations of Zacharias are 180° opposite those of the Bush-Obama Administration.
Matthew 1:18-25
Joseph told about the Incarnation.
"Jesus" means "salvation"
"Immanuel" means "God with us"
The Bush Administration thinks it brings salvation.

Obama thinks he is Immanuel.

Luke 2:1-7
The Prophet Micah predicted that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. Jesus' parents lived in Nazereth. Therefore God predestined Caesar to issue a decree (probably relating to taxes) that would bring Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem before Jesus was born.
Bush claims the same global power of confiscation and migration as Caesar did. Thousands of Christians have been forced to move out of Iraq to make way for Bush's Islamic Theocracy.
Luke 2:8-14
An army of angels announces the birth of the Messiah, saying,
“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace to those with whom He is pleased!”
Man's chief end is to glorify God and live in peace. The Bush Administration's chief end is to erect a "wall of separation" between God and government so that the State gives no glory to God, and to wage war, thereby "stimulating the economy."
Luke 2:15-20
“Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds.”
Washington D.C. isn't listening.
Luke 2:22-24
Joseph and Mary went to Jerusalem to obey Leviticus 12:8, which suggests that they were not rich.
Washington politicians are among the richest and most financially secure people in America.
Luke 2:25-35
Simeon had been told he would not die before he saw the Lord's Messiah. He says Jesus is "The One."

Is Barack Obama the Messiah?

Luke 2:36-38
Anna the Prophetess is another well-known Godly person who acknowledges that Jesus is the Child promised by the prophets.
Where is the Anna of our day who tells us we can trust Washington D.C. to bring salvation?
Matthew 2:1-8
"Wise men from the East" knew of Micah's prophecy that the King of the Jews would be born in Bethlehem.
Are there any wise men around the world who place their confidence in George Bush, Henry Paulson, Paul Krugman, or Barack Obama?
Matthew 2:9-12
The kings from the east present the Messiah with "gold, frankincense, and myrrh."
Rather than bestowing wealth on the King, Obama-Bush confiscates the wealth of others.
Matthew 2:13-18
When Herod got word of the birth of a rival king, he behaved in a perfectly logical way (for someone who wants to protect his power):  he massacred all male babies the age of Jesus. Herod recognized that Jesus was a threat to Herod's power.
Every day in America 4,000 unborn babies are murdered. These babies must threaten something.

Millions of Americans who call themselves Christians, on the other hand, are no threat to tyranny. None of them are being killed. Bush has killed a thousand times more human beings than Herod did, and confiscated a billion times more wealth than Herod did.

The Republican Party Radio Address:

Response of the Republican Party
Saturday Morning Radio Address

Republican Sen. John Barrasso of Wyoming criticizes the Democrats' energy policies (OVTH transcript)
Hi. I'm Senator John Barrasso from Wyoming.
Many Americans spend the Memorial Day weekend traveling with family to visit relatives and friends. It's a weekend of ceremonies, parades and cookouts.
Memorial Day is a time to remember America's fallen heroes; men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for the safety and prosperity of our great country. This weekend we pay tribute to their courage.
Today I'd like to visit with you about the energy we use to power our nation. Republicans support a comprehensive energy plan. A plan that puts Americans to work. A plan that harnesses American resources. There is nothing in the Constitution which justifies a comprehensive government "energy plan." Everything in the laws of economics is against such a plan. Why do the Republicans support energy fascism?
Constitution:
10th Amendment
Enumerated Powers
"General Welfare" clause no exception
Laws of Economics:
The Government Against the Economy (arguments included in his larger study, Capitalism).
You may have heard the Democrats in Washington are looking to limit our country's energy options. It's true. They want to put a new tax on American energy. A new tax every time you turn on the light switch. American families already spend more than 2000 dollars a year on home energy costs alone. No one wants to pay higher energy costs.
We must produce more American energy and use less. We need to make America's energy as clean as we can, as fast as we can, without raising energy prices for American families. That means developing renewable energy and alternative energy. It means doubling our investment in energy research. It also means responsibly exploring and developing American oil and gas resources and promoting clean coal and nuclear power.
The Republican plan will strengthen our economy, protect our environment, And enhance our national security.
Democrats have focused solely on what they call green jobs: those are jobs from alternative energy. I support green jobs, but why discriminate? American energy means American jobs which is why I support red white and blue jobs. We should harness the strong work ethic and the creativity of the American people.
We are a nation that sent men to the moon and safely returned them to earth. Surely we have the creativity and the knowledge to use our nation's energy resources to power our country. And with the continued global instability, using American energy seems more important than ever before.
Energy use around the world continues to increase. It will increase 50% in the next twenty years. Wind and solar power are very important. We must continue to develop these resources. Right now they only account for roughly 1% of US electricity. One percent = unimportant.

Why are wind and solar power "very important" if they are so unimportant?

What he means is, "It is important that we make them important." But why?

In fact, it is important -- vital -- that wind and solar power not be important sources of energy. The day that we get 90% of our energy from wind and solar is the day that hundreds of millions of people die and the rest live in poverty.

I'm a strong supporter of renewable energy. In Wyoming we have a world class wind resources. But even if we double our nation's wind and solar energy and then double it again, it won't be enough to meet our energy needs. We need more energy and we need it even at times when the wind isn't blowing and the sun isn't shining. There remains a large gap -- an energy gap -- between the reliable energy that we need and the renewable energy that we want.

So why is it important?

Why do "we" want "renewable" energy?

There is plenty of American energy which the Democrats say that we should not use. There are billions of barrels of oil in the outer continental shelf. There's even more in Alaska. There's enough oil shale in the rocky mountain west alone to power America for the next hundred years. The Democrats say all this American energy is off limits.
When we limit our use of American energy we become more dependent on foreign oil. As a nation we need to be more energy independent. It is a matter of energy security, as well as national security. When we limit our use of cheap foreign energy, we become poorer.
My home state of Wyoming is the largest net supplier of energy in the country. Visitors from around the world come to Wyoming because of our national parks, and our beautiful wide open landscapes. In Wyoming we have found the right balance between protecting our environment, and developing our energy resources.
Americans need more energy -- more from our American sources. All of our sources all of our American sources and importantly, we must do more to promote conservation, boost the efficient use of energy, and double our nation's investment in energy research. Each of these pieces is an essential part of creating American jobs, reducing our reliance on foreign oil, and keeping our energy affordable.
As we approach this Memorial Day. It is my hope that the Democrats can work with us to develop solutions. To make our energy supply clean, affordable, and reliable.
Thank you for listening. More on energy here. Electricity. Gas prices.

What Would America's Founding Fathers Do?

The men who threw tea into the Boston Harbor over a tax of 3 pence per pound would not be happy with a tax ten times greater on every gallon of gas. Those who took up muskets over a total tax burden of less than 3% would not be happy with the fact that the federal government now takes more than half of everything you earn.

Today it is illegal for public school teachers to teach their students that the Declaration of Independence is really true (and not just an outdated historical document). The federal government is clearly at war with everything the Founding Fathers stood for.

America's greatest Americans would abolish today's federal government.

Muskets are Not an Option

There are two reasons why we should not take up arms to pull off the violent overthrow of the federal government, even if America's Founders would surely do so. First, the feds have nukes. Second, violent revolution is unChristian and unBiblical. We must beat our swords into plowshares and use persuasion to abolish tyranny. This is time for a revolution of ideas.

Revolution Won't Come in a Day

John Adams once wrote that the American Revolution began in 1761, when Massachusetts attorney James Otis began legal challenges to the Writs of Assistance. He lost the case, but "American independence," Adams wrote, "was then and there born." Now do the math. That means it took 15 years to convince the rest of America to declare Independence (1776). Then another seven years of war was required before a Peace Treaty was signed (1783), and then six years before the Constitution was finally ratified (1789). That's almost 30 years. (And Jefferson said we shouldn't go 20 years without another rebellion!) How can we hope to convince Americans to fight for principles they were never taught in government schools? We need to be in this battle for the long term. "Eternal Vigilance is the Price of Liberty."
