We Americans often associate America with "Capitalism," "The Free Market," and even "laissez-faire capitalism."
There has certainly been more freedom in America than in the more infamous fascist, socialist, and communist countries.
But we can easily be misled into becoming a cheerleader for certain politicians or political parties if we are ignorant of our own faults ("blindspots").
These faults are not uniquely American. They are faults that go back centuries, and tarnish the reputation of "Christian civilization" and "White European" "heritage."
