God is Giving Me

Focusing on a goal greater than the distractions along the way;
Experiencing the power of God's Love by rejoicing in trials and tribulations

Fr. endurer; en and durere, to last, from dur, L. durus. The primary sense of durus, hard, is set, fixed.
1. To last; to continue in the same state without perishing; to remain; to abide.
       The Lord shall endure forever.

Psalm ix.

He shall hold it [his house] fast, but it shall not endure.

Job viii.

2. To bear; to brook; to suffer without resistance, or without yielding.
How can I endure to see the evil that shall come to my people?

Esther viii.

Can thy heart endure, or thy hands be strong?

Ezek. xxii.

To bear with patience; to bear without opposition or sinking under the pressure.
Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sake
2 Tim. ii.
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as sons.
Heb. xii.

Webster's, 1st ed., 1828

My calling and election in Christ is set and sure. My life is built on the Rock. By God's grace, I endure.

I maintain a commitment to a goal during times of pressure.

I unite with those of like mind to withstand destructive influences.

I set aside privileges which weaken me or others.

I know how and when to use the resources available to me.

I am developing the inward strength to withstand stress to accomplish God's best.

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.
-- Galatians 6:9

just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will,
-- Ephesians 1:4-5

Thy Word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
-- Psalm 119:11
