Not setting my affections on plans or places that could be
changed by those whom I am serving.
1. Capable of being turned or forced from a straight line or
form without breaking.
2. Capable of yielding to intreaties, arguments or other moral
force; that may be persuaded to compliance; not invincibly rigid
or obstinate; not inexorable.
Webster's, 1st ed., 1828
I am always ready to listen to moral arguments, and to grow more
like my Savior. I am willing to be bent into His shape. I do not
break when my old habits and ways of thinking are shown to be
unBiblical.
Just as Christ gave His life for His people, I am not called to
rule, but to serve (Mark
10:42-45). I sense and adapt to the wishes of the
one I serve.
I conserve my time and energy to complete my priorities.
I remain free to accept the best course of action.
I change plans if unexpected conditions require it.
I do not set my affections or ideas on plans which could be
changed by God or others.
Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth.
-- Colossians 3:2
In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined
according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to
the counsel of His will, that we who first trusted in Christ
should be to the praise of His glory.
-- Ephesians 1:11-12
I will meditate in Thy precepts, and have respect unto thy
ways. I will delight myself in Thy statutes: I will not forget Thy
Word.
-- Psalm 119:15
This isn't that New Age
"Positive Thinking" stuff, is it??
