Recognizing and acknowledging my total dependence upon the
Lord and seeking His will for every decision.
In ethics, freedom from pride and arrogance;
humbleness of mind; a modest estimate of one's own
worth. In theology, humility consists in
lowliness of mind; a deep sense of one's own
unworthiness in the sight of God, self abasement,
penitence for sin, and submission to the divine will. |

Serving the Lord with all humility

Acts xx |
Webster's 1st ed., 1828
There are dark things in my past that I would reveal to no one; God
knows them all, and still, He is gracious to me. It's nothing I
deserve.
There are many things about God's Word that the Spirit still
needs to teach me.
When I have decisions to make I seek the counsel of others.
I stop to help the troubled; it could just as easily be me.
I do not boast; everything I have is an undeserved gift.
My friends know me to be willing to admit my mistakes.
My family sees me becoming more and more reverential.
I am becoming more and more humble; I don't need to be "the
big cheese."
My parents wanted me to be meek, and my unpretentious life is an
honor to their desires.
My parents are proud of my gentle life.
My polite habits are an asset to my community.
Those I work with are delighted that I am becoming more and more
respectful.
I am not afraid to be lowly in a culture that boasts of its own
"greatness."
My desire to be unassuming pleases God.
I am committed to becoming more and more willing to ask
forgiveness.
The Spirit empowers me to be willing to have my defects of
character removed.
I often think about how I can be more gracious.
Recognizing that God and others are responsible for the
achievements in my life. James 4:6
Because I fall short of the lofty standards of God's
Righteousness, the Spirit is making me:
- modest
- reverential
- polite
- respectful
- gracious
- meek
- contrite
- gentle
- lowly
- unassuming
- unpretentious
Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He
called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He
also glorified.
-- Romans 8:30
O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day.
