God is Making Me A Voracious

Reader

Using the written word as a tool of dominion over a world created by the Incarnate Word

1. To perform the act of reading.
So they read in the book of the law of God distinctly, and gave the sense.   Neh. viii.
2. To be studious; to practice much reading.
It is sure that Fleury reads.   -- Taylor.
3. To learn by reading.
I have read of an eastern king who put a judge to death for an iniquitous sentence.    -- Swift.

Webster's 1st ed., 1828

I know that leaders are readers. I read God's Word and the works of those who are proven in obedience to His Law. I read publications which are of value, not those which merely claim to be.

Because I meditate on God's Word, and because God's Word applies to every area of life, and because the Word of God dwells in me, I read words quickly and easily with great comprehension of all subject matter.

I am a man of the Word.

I am becoming more and more literate.

My friends know me to be well-informed.

My family sees me becoming more and more knowledgeable.

My parents are proud of my informed outlook.

My inquisitive habits are an asset to my community.

Those I work with are delighted that I am becoming more and more insightful.

I am not afraid to read in a TV-addicted culture.

My desire to be wise pleases God.

I am committed to becoming more and more understanding.

People around me can depend on me to find the needed information.

The Spirit empowers me to be intelligent and discerning.

I often think about how I can read more rapidly and effectively.

I appreciate words.

My spirit reverberates with the Word of God.

I have a natural affinity with words.

I am at home with the printed page.

These words resonate in my being; I use them often:

  • literate
  • knowledgeable
  • informed
  • helpful
  • conversant
  • informative
  • inquisitive
  • understanding
  • intelligent
  • aware
  • appreciative
  • wise
  • discerning
  • insightful
  • questioning
  • prudent

And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
-- Romans 8:28-29

I have remembered Thy Name, O LORD, in the night, and have kept Thy Law.
-- Psalm 119:55

This isn't that New Age "Positive Thinking" stuff, is it??
