Being as genuine on the inside as I try to appear on the
outside.
- 1. Pure; unmixed
- As new-born babes, desire the sincere milk of the
word. 1 Pet. ii.
- 3. Being in reality what it appears to be; not feigned;
not simulated; not assumed or said for the sake of
appearance; real; not hypocritical or pretended. Let your
intentions be pure and your declarations sincere.
Let love and friendship be sincere. No prayer can
avail with a heart-searching God, unless it is sincere.
Webster's, 1st ed., 1828
My justification comes from God alone. He knows my every
thought, wherever I am. I cannot fool God with insincerity even if
I wanted to. I can be insincere with
others, but I have no need to. It profits me nothing to gain their
approval and lose right standing with God. I am therefore ready
and eager to do the right thing with transparent motives, at all
times.
And we know that all things work together for good to those
who love God, to those who are the called according to His
purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be
conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn
among many brethren.
-- Romans 8:28-29
I have remembered Thy Name, O LORD, in the night, and have
kept Thy Law.
-- Psalm 119:55
