"Our Posterity"

Congress should:
  • not sacrifice our posterity for short-term gain

The Preamble of the Constitution states,

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquillity, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

This is a future-oriented compact. It was signed by people who had risked "our Lives, our Fortunes, and our sacred Honor" in defense of "Liberty Under God."

Would you be willing to sacrifice your Social Security benefits in order to guarantee that future generations do not live under tyranny?
