President
Obama's
Saturday Morning Radio Address

Another
Perspective:
"Liberty
Under God"
|
- In this new century, we live in a world that has grown
smaller and more interconnected than at any time in history.
-
- Threats to our nation’s security and economy can no longer
be kept at bay by oceans or by borders drawn on maps.
- • The terrorists who struck our country on 9/11 plotted in
Hamburg, trained in Kandahar and Karachi, and threaten
countries across the globe.
• Cars in Boston and Beijing are melting ice caps in the
Arctic that disrupt weather patterns everywhere.
• The theft of nuclear material from the former Soviet Union
could lead to the extermination of any city on earth.
• And reckless speculation by bankers in New York and London
has fueled a global recession that is inflicting pain on
workers and families around the world and across America.
|
- It's a good thing for business owners in California,
Missouri, and New York to be "interconnected" with
business owners in Taiwan, Singapore, and the Philippines. It
is not a good thing for business owners to be under the
dominion of international bankers -- like Paulson and Bernanke
-- and the politicians they control -- like Obama and Gordon
Brown.
- • Terrorists would not exist in the absence of the G20
governments and their military imperialism.
- • The causal link between Boston cars and "global
warming" has not been proven, and Obama's statement is
reckless and dangerous. Obama's "solutions" to the
"problem" typically regulate Boston far more than
Beijing.
- • The danger from nuclear weapons is one that was created
by governments, not the Free Market.
- • Our economic woes are principally the result of
government manipulation of credit and currency. Reference to
"speculation" by politicians is always reckless and
dangerous demagoguery.
|
The challenges of our time
threaten the peace and prosperity of every single nation, and no
one nation can meet
them alone. That is why it is sometimes necessary for a President
to travel abroad in order to protect and strengthen our nation
here at home. That is what I have done this week. |
By "nation" Obama does
not mean, e.g., the 300 million people of the United States. He
means "government." He's promoting world government
rather than national governments. In the absence of governments,
the 300 million people of the United States could meet the
challenges of our time, largely because they would not exist. |
I began my trip by attending a
summit of the G20 – the countries that represent the world’s
largest economies – because we know that the success of
America’s economy is inextricably linked to that of the global
economy. If people in other countries cannot
spend, that means they cannot buy the goods
we produce here in America, which means more lost jobs and
more families hurting. Just yesterday, we learned that we lost
hundreds of thousands more jobs last month, adding to the millions
we’ve lost since this recession began. And if we
continue to let banks and other financial institutions around the
world act recklessly and irresponsibly, that affects institutions
here at home as credit dries up, and people can’t get loans to
buy a home or car, to run a small business or pay for college. |
Obama is a Keynesian, and
believes spending is the solution, not saving and investment in an
effective market-driven capital structure. We won't be producing
any goods if we don't save and invest in the capital necessary to
produce. And government should not be dictating what we produce.
Who is "letting" banks act "recklessly?" In
fact, recklessness was mandated by the government.
Our goal should be home and car ownership by educated people
who run their own businesses without ever having to borrow
money from banks and pay back exorbitant interest. Obama
is on the side of the banks, not the people.
|
Ultimately, the only way out of a
recession that is global in scope is with a response that is
global in coordination. That is why I’m pleased that after two
days of careful negotiation, the G20 nations have agreed on a
series of unprecedented steps that I believe will be a turning
point in our pursuit of a global economic recovery. All
of us are now moving aggressively to get our banks lending again.
All of us are working to spur growth and create jobs. And all of
us have agreed on the most sweeping reform of our financial
regulatory framework in a generation – reform that will help end
the risky speculation and market
abuses that have cost so many people so much. |
The global recession is the
result of global government intervention in the economy.
"Turning point" implies something different from the
past. What is different? What has changed?
"All
of us are now moving aggressively to get our people in debt
again."
How was the housing bubble caused by "market abuses?"
It was caused by government printing up money to be loaned to
uncreditworthy borrowers.
|
I also met this past week with
the leaders of China and Russia, working to forge constructive
relationships to address issues of common concern, while being
frank with each other about where we disagree. President Hu and I
agreed that the link between China’s economy and ours is of
great mutual benefit, and we established a new Strategic and
Economic Dialogue between the U.S. and China. President Medvedev
and I discussed our shared commitment to a world without nuclear
weapons, and we signed a declaration putting America and Russia on
the path to a new treaty to further reduce our nuclear arsenals.
Tomorrow, I will lay out additional steps we must take to secure
the world’s loose nuclear materials and stop the spread of these
deadly weapons. |
The problem is not
"loose nuclear materials." The problem is (1) the
religious and cultural forces behind suicide-bombing, and (2) the
willingness of governments to create and deploy weapons of
mass-destruction; weapons which indiscriminately kill millions of
innocent non-combatant civilians. These weapons can only be
created by "States" that have the power to confiscate
wealth by force. In the absence of "the State,"
Microsoft and General Electric would have no economic incentive to
develop weapons of mass destruction and kill millions of potential
customers. |
Finally, I met yesterday with our
NATO allies and asked them for additional civilian support and
assistance for our efforts in Afghanistan. That is where al Qaeda
trains, plots, and threatens to launch their next attack. And that
attack could occur in any nation, which means that every nation
has a stake in ensuring that our mission in Afghanistan succeeds. |
The Pakistani connection to 9-11
and to the current training of terrorists there is still being
ignored by the mainstream media and the Administration that
controls them. |
As we have worked this week to
find common ground and strengthen our alliances, we have not
solved all of our problems. And we have not agreed on every point
or every issue in every meeting. But we have made real and unprecedented
progress – and will continue to do so in the weeks and months
ahead. |
Strengthening global government
is not exactly "unprecedented." It does represent the
abolition of the Declaration of Independence, as Dick
Morris reports - 4.3.09, but not single-handedly by Obama at
this one meeting of the G20. |
Because in the end, we recognize
that no corner of the globe can wall itself off from the threats
of the twenty-first century, or from the needs and concerns of
fellow nations. The only way forward is through shared and
persistent efforts to combat
fear and want wherever they exist. That is the
challenge of our time. And if we move forward with courage and
resolve, I am confident that we will meet this challenge. |
The concept of an institution
of mass death and systematic theft combating "fear and
want" is a dangerous delusion. |
Thank you. |

Kevin Craig's Platform:
- "Vine & Fig
Tree" - the original American Dream - work,
profit, save, invest, enjoy - not "easy to borrow,"
perpetual debt; not "invade other nations" to secure our
own wealth.
- No more Bailouts
- No more inflation, no more paper
money.
- No more wasteful government spending.

As you read the Gospel

"religious" sense, but reported in the New York Times, proven
in a court of law, or acknowledged by your personal hero. (How

2:1-7

Bush claims the same global power
of confiscation and migration as Caesar did. Thousands of Christians
have been forced to move out of Iraq to make way for Bush's Islamic
Theocracy. |
- Luke
2:8-14
- An army of angels announces the birth of the Messiah, saying,
“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace to those
with whom He is pleased!”
|
Man's chief
end is to glorify God and live in peace.
The Bush Administration's chief end is to erect a "wall
of separation" between God and government so that the State
gives no glory to God, and to wage war, thereby "stimulating
the economy." |
- Luke
2:15-20
- “Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known
the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all
those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them
by the shepherds.”

- Luke
2:36-38
- Anna the Prophetess is another well-known Godly person who
acknowledges that Jesus is the Child promised by the prophets.
|
Where is the Anna of our day who
tells us we can trust Washington D.C. to bring salvation? |
- Matthew
2:1-8
- "Wise men from the East" knew of Micah's prophecy
that the King of the Jews would be born in Bethlehem.
|
Are there any wise men around the
world who place their confidence in George Bush, Henry Paulson,
Paul Krugman, or Barack Obama? |
- Matthew
2:9-12
- The kings from the east present the Messiah with "gold,
frankincense,
and myrrh."
|
Rather than bestowing wealth on
the King, Obama-Bush confiscates the wealth
of others. |
- Matthew
2:13-18
- When Herod got word of the birth of a rival king, he behaved
in a perfectly logical way (for someone who wants to protect
his power): he massacred all male babies the age of
Jesus. Herod recognized that Jesus was a threat to Herod's
power.
|
Every day in America 4,000 unborn
babies are murdered. These babies must threaten something.
Millions of Americans who call themselves Christians, on the
other hand, are no threat to tyranny.
None of them are being killed. Bush has killed a thousand times
more human beings than Herod did, and confiscated a billion times
more wealth than Herod did.

Party Radio Address:
Response of the Republican Party
Saturday Morning Radio Address |

Paul
Ryan Wisconsin Delivers Weekly Republican Address [transcript] |
|
Hello, I’m Paul Ryan
of Wisconsin, the lead Republican on the House Budget Committee. |
|
America is in the midst of an
economic crisis. Families and small businesses are
hurting, and too many Americans have lost their jobs. There is
no doubt that President Obama inherited a fiscal crisis. But the
question is, is he fixing it or is he making it worse? |
|
The President’s budget, which
passed the House and Senate this week, will make the crisis
much, much worse. Rather than getting spending under
control, it sends spending out of control. Rather than keeping
taxes low to create jobs, it chases ever-higher spending with
ever-higher taxes and results in ever-higher debt – an
unprecedented, unsustainable increase in red ink. |
|
It doubles our national debt in
five years, and triples our debt in 10 years. |
|
Put simply: the
Democrats’ budget spends too much, taxes too much, and borrows
too much from our kids and their kids. |
|
Their budget puts all the
sacrifice on future generations. It makes no tough
choices. It’s only tough on our children and
grandchildren. |
|
But it is not enough for us to
just criticize. We must also propose a better way forward.
And Republicans have. |
|
The budget House Republicans
offered gives Americans a real choice. It curbs spending,
creates jobs, and controls the debt. |
|
The Republican budget has lower
deficits than the Democratic plan every year, and by 2019, has
half the deficit proposed by the president. Under our plan, the
public debt would be $3.6 trillion lower than President
Obama’s plan. |
|
Our budget gives priority to
national defense and veterans’ healthcare. We freeze all other
discretionary spending for five years. We enact a spending
cap backed up by tough budget enforcement. |
|
American families are making
sacrifices and tightening their belts. Washington should do the
same. |
|
Our budget also takes steps
toward healthcare reform and retirement security. Our goal is to
make quality, affordable health care accessible to all Americans
by strengthening the relationship between patients and their
doctors, not with a big government takeover. We will preserve
and improve the existing Medicare program as well. |
|
We have offered a concrete plan
– a path to prosperity – to tackle our nation’s problems
with innovative and principled solutions. America is not the
greatest nation on earth by chance. We earned this greatness by
rewarding individual achievement, by advancing and protecting
natural rights, and by embracing freedom. |
|
Our budget reflects those
principles, and we offer the American people a better way
forward. Thank you for listening. |
|
What Would America's Founding Fathers Do?
The men who threw tea into the Boston Harbor over a tax of 3 pence
per pound would not be happy with a tax ten times greater on
every gallon of gas. Those who took up muskets over a total tax burden
of less than 3% would not be happy with the
fact that the federal government now takes more
than half of everything you earn.
Today it is illegal for public school teachers to teach their
students that the Declaration of Independence is really true (and not
just an outdated historical document). The federal government is clearly
at war with everything the Founding Fathers stood for.
America's greatest Americans would abolish
today's federal government.
Muskets are Not an Option
There are two reasons why we should not take up arms to pull off the
violent overthrow of the federal government, even if America's Founders
would surely do so. First, the feds have nukes. Second, violent
revolution is unChristian and unBiblical. We must beat our swords
into plowshares and use persuasion to
abolish tyranny. This is time for a revolution
of ideas.
Revolution Won't Come in a Day
John Adams once wrote that the American
Revolution began in 1761, when Massachusetts attorney James Otis
began legal challenges to the Writs
of Assistance. He lost the case, but "American
independence," Adams wrote, "was
then and there born." Now do the math. That means it took 15
years to convince the rest of America to declare Independence
(1776). Then another seven years of war was required before a
Peace Treaty was signed (1783), and then six years before the
Constitution was finally ratified (1789). That's almost 30 years. (And
Jefferson said we shouldn't go 20
years without another rebellion!) How can we hope to convince
Americans to fight for principles they were never taught in government
schools? We need to be in this battle for the long term. "Eternal
Vigilance is the Price of Liberty."

Help End the Mexican Civil

Black-market profits caused by drug prohibition fund a civil war

profits also fuel the terrorists who are killing U.S. soldiers

It's time to end drug prohibition.

Stop
the Killer Horse Hormones
The FDA "outlawed" the use of Estriol, an estrogen
medication that's bio-identical to human estrogen. Doctors must
now prescribe animal-derived estrogen instead. Are bio-identical
hormones dangerous, while animal-derived hormones are safe? No.
The practice of medicine is moving to chemically identical to
human hormones and away from animal hormones. Learn why the FDA
decided to endanger women's health in this way, and take action. |
End
Asset Forfeiture
If the government suspects you used your house or car in a crime,
they can take it and sell it at auction. They don't even have to
prove your guilt. They call this practice civil asset forfeiture,
but it's really theft. It violates the 4th, 5th, 6th, 8th, 9th and
14th Amendments. It also encourages law enforcement to put profits
before justice. Tell Congress to end civil asset forfeiture.

"Cap
and Trade" is not the way
The politicians seem to be unifying around "cap and
trade" as a way to cut CO2 emissions. If they take this
step it may be the largest increase in the size, scope, and
intrusiveness of government since the creation of Medicare.
Worse still, it may not even achieve its purpose. Please tell
Congress to oppose "cap and trade." Learn

Stop
the War for Terror
U.S. policy has inflamed the Middle East. It has made
terrorism more likely rather than less. We seem to be fighting a
war for terror, rather than on
terror. This policy must stop. The place to start stopping is
with Iran. We must not attack Iran. War with Iran would
devastate our economy, disrupt world oil supplies, and recruit
more terrorists. Click
