Time for Another American Revolution?
2009

Independence Day | July 4th, 2009

The Town Hall: seat of government, focal point of revolution.
Samuel Adams: "The Father of the American Revolution," signed the Declaration of Independence,
His "Committees of Correspondence" met in town halls
• The first letter Adams wrote for the Committees of Correspondence urged the American colonists to remember
  • their rights as Englishmen
  • their rights as Christians
  • their rights as Human Beings.
What would Sam Adams and America's Founding Fathers be saying in town halls today?

Become a great American: www.July4th1776.org

The Declaration of Independence: Foundational principles of the idea of America.
Today the federal government makes it illegal for a school teacher in a government-run school to teach students that the Declaration of Independence really is true.
• that the existence of God is a "self-evident truth"
• that our rights are the product of intelligent design (not the government)
• that all Americans are obligated to conform their lives to "the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God"
• that our actions must one day pass judgment with "the Supreme Judge of the world"
• that all Americans should have "a firm reliance on the Protection of Divine Providence."

Notes and Summary of the President's Saturday Radio Address:
Should We Abolish Tyranny?

The White House Press Office: In his weekly address, President Barack Obama celebrated the unyielding American spirit that has defined our past and will lead us into the future.  Even as we face daunting challenges - two wars, a deep recession, skyrocketing health care costs, and a dependence on foreign oil, we have always overcome long odds and faced down our trials.  We must remember and renew that spirit as we confront and meet our current challenges.  (continued below)

How the President Differs from the American vision of "Liberty Under God":

President Obama's
Saturday Morning Radio Address

Another Perspective:
"
Liberty Under God"

Hello and Happy Fourth of July, everybody. This weekend is a time to get together with family and friends, kick back, and enjoy a little time off. And I hope that’s exactly what all of you do. But I also want to take a moment today to reflect on what I believe is the meaning of this distinctly American holiday. The meaning of this holiday is expressed in the Declaration of Independence: We have the duty to abolish tyranny

TIME Magazine says Obama can learn from FDR the meaning of America: "Their essence can be summed up in a single word: security." But the real meaning of America is LIBERTY. Specifically, "Liberty Under God."

Today, we are called to remember not only the day our country was born – we are also called to remember the indomitable spirit of the first American citizens who made that day possible. The "indomitable spirit" to do what? To establish an omnipotent government to bring us "security?"
We are called to remember how unlikely it was that our American experiment would succeed at all; that a small band of patriots would declare independence from a powerful empire; and that they would form, in the new world, what the old world had never known – a government of, by, and for the people. As we noted above, America was known as an "experiment in liberty." Not an experiment in omnipotent government management. Liberty of the people to act under God.
That unyielding spirit is what defines us as Americans. It is what led generations of pioneers to blaze a westward trail.
It is what led my grandparents’ generation to persevere in the face of a Depression and triumph in the face of tyranny.
It is what led generations of American workers to build an industrial economy unrivalled around the world.
It is what has always led us, as a people, not to wilt or cower at a difficult moment, but to face down any trial and rise to any challenge, understanding that each of us has a hand in writing America’s destiny.
That is the spirit we are called to show once more. We are facing an array of challenges on a scale unseen in our time. We are waging two wars. We are battling a deep recession. And our economy – and our nation itself – are endangered by festering problems we have kicked down the road for far too long:
• spiraling health care costs;
• inadequate schools; and
• a dependence on foreign oil.
All of these problems are caused by tyranny: government that has broken the chains of the Constitution.
Meeting these extraordinary challenges will require an extraordinary effort on the part of every American. And that is an effort we cannot defer any longer. These challenges, caused by the government, require liberty. They do not require orchestration by a more powerful government.
Now is the time to lay a new foundation for growth and prosperity. Now is the time to revamp our education system, demand more from teachers, parents, and students alike, and build schools that prepare every child in America to outcompete any worker in the world.
Now is the time to reform an unsustainable health care system that is imposing crushing costs on families, businesses, large and small, and state and federal budgets. We need to protect what works, fix what’s broken, and bring down costs for all Americans. No more talk. No more delay. Health care reform must happen this year.
And now is the time to meet our energy challenge – one of the greatest challenges we have ever confronted as a people or as a planet. For the sake of our economy and our children, we must build on the historic bill passed by the House of Representatives, and make clean energy the profitable kind of energy so that we can end our dependence on foreign oil and reclaim America’s future.
These are some of the challenges that our generation has been called to meet. And yet, there are those who would have us try what has already failed; who would defend the status quo. They argue that our health care system is fine the way it is and that a clean energy economy can wait. They say we are trying to do too much, that we are moving too quickly, and that we all ought to just take a deep breath and scale back our goals. Who says this? Who says no changes are needed in health care?
These naysayers have short memories.  They forget that we, as a people, did not get here by standing pat in a time of change. We did not get here by doing what was easy. That is not how a cluster of 13 colonies became the United States of America.
We are not a people who fear the future. We are a people who make it. And on this July 4th, we need to summon that spirit once more. We need to summon the same spirit that inhabited Independence Hall two hundred and thirty-three years ago today. That spirit was "the spirit of liberty," not the spirit of "security."
That is how this generation of Americans will make its mark on history. That is how we will make the most of this extraordinary moment. And that is how we will write the next chapter in the great American story. Thank you, and Happy Fourth of July.

Restoring America's Greatness by
Celebrating Christmas all year long

The Message of Christmas and the Principles set forth by the Christ (the Messiah) who came that first Christmas are the real solution to America's problems. The Federal Government is at war with Christmas and "The Way of Peace" announced by the Prince of Peace.

Christmas

Bush-Clinton-Obama

John 1:1-18 - The Incarnation
The Word became flesh. The Creator of the universe becomes a human being. He came to His own, but His own did not receive Him, preferring darkness rather than light.
"The State is God walking on Earth"

The 2 parties are cooperating rival sects in the world's most powerful religious cult.

Luke 1:1-4
Eyewitnesses of the Messiah recorded their testimony. Co-Founder of the Harvard Law School says their testimony would prove the resurrection in any court of law in America, at one time a Christian nation.
No longer a Christian nation, American courts routinely release the guilty and condemn the innocent.
Matthew 1:1-17
Jesus was a descendant of King David.
Obama is a distant cousin of both Dick Cheney and George Bush

How Bush's grandfather helped Hitler's rise to power

Luke 3:23-38
Jesus was a descendant of Abraham.
All those who submit to Jesus as the Messiah (the rightful king of the earth) inherit the promises made to Abraham
Those who reject the Messiah do not inherit the promises made to Abraham, even though Bush defends their right to do so.
Luke 1:5-25
John the Baptist prepares the way for the Messiah, as prophesied of Elijah.
As you read the Gospel accounts, ask yourself how you would react if you knew these accounts were really true. Not just true in some "religious" sense, but reported in the New York Times, proven in a court of law, or acknowledged by your personal hero.  (How do you know something is true? Do you even have any "heroes?") How should you change your life if your Creator became a human being? How should Washington D.C. react if this human being claimed to be the true Ruler?
Luke 1:26-38
The Angel Gabriel announces the conception of the Messiah, who will be given the throne of David.
Luke 1:39-45
The unborn John recognizes the mother of the Messiah.
Bush-Obama would chop the unborn John and the unborn Jesus into stem cells for "medical research."
Luke 1:46-56 - "The Magnificat"
“He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.” Luke 1:51
The Bush Administration is filled with the power-hungry, who commit adultery in reality or in fantasy.
Luke 1:67-80
Zacharias, John the Baptist's father, prophecies the birth of Jesus the anti-king.
The expectations of Zacharias are 180° opposite those of the Bush-Obama Administration.
Matthew 1:18-25
Joseph told about the Incarnation.
"Jesus" means "salvation"
"Immanuel" means "God with us"
The Bush Administration thinks it brings salvation.

Obama thinks he is Immanuel.

Luke 2:1-7
The Prophet Micah predicted that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem. Jesus' parents lived in Nazereth. Therefore God predestined Caesar to issue a decree (probably relating to taxes) that would bring Joseph and Mary to Bethlehem before Jesus was born.
Bush claims the same global power of confiscation and migration as Caesar did. Thousands of Christians have been forced to move out of Iraq to make way for Bush's Islamic Theocracy.
Luke 2:8-14
An army of angels announces the birth of the Messiah, saying,
“Glory to God in the highest,
And on earth peace to those with whom He is pleased!”
Man's chief end is to glorify God and live in peace. The Bush Administration's chief end is to erect a "wall of separation" between God and government so that the State gives no glory to God, and to wage war, thereby "stimulating the economy."
Luke 2:15-20
“Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds.”
Washington D.C. isn't listening.
Luke 2:22-24
Joseph and Mary went to Jerusalem to obey Leviticus 12:8, which suggests that they were not rich.
Washington politicians are among the richest and most financially secure people in America.
Luke 2:25-35
Simeon had been told he would not die before he saw the Lord's Messiah. He says Jesus is "The One."

Is Barack Obama the Messiah?

Luke 2:36-38
Anna the Prophetess is another well-known Godly person who acknowledges that Jesus is the Child promised by the prophets.
Where is the Anna of our day who tells us we can trust Washington D.C. to bring salvation?
Matthew 2:1-8
"Wise men from the East" knew of Micah's prophecy that the King of the Jews would be born in Bethlehem.
Are there any wise men around the world who place their confidence in George Bush, Henry Paulson, Paul Krugman, or Barack Obama?
Matthew 2:9-12
The kings from the east present the Messiah with "gold, frankincense, and myrrh."
Rather than bestowing wealth on the King, Obama-Bush confiscates the wealth of others.
Matthew 2:13-18
When Herod got word of the birth of a rival king, he behaved in a perfectly logical way (for someone who wants to protect his power):  he massacred all male babies the age of Jesus. Herod recognized that Jesus was a threat to Herod's power.
Every day in America 4,000 unborn babies are murdered. These babies must threaten something.

Millions of Americans who call themselves Christians, on the other hand, are no threat to tyranny. None of them are being killed. Bush has killed a thousand times more human beings than Herod did, and confiscated a billion times more wealth than Herod did.

The Republican Party Radio Address:

Response of the Republican Party
Saturday Morning Radio Address

Saturday, July 4, 2009

In the Republican Radio Address, Arizona Senator and 2008 Republican Presidential Nominee John McCain likens Iranian protesters to America's Founding Fathers, and criticizes Obama's silence concerning Iranian protests.
Hi, I'm Senator John McCain.
Today we celebrate our independence declared 233 years ago, achieved through the trial of a long and difficult war, and preserved through the years with the blood and sacrifice of millions. Independence from "taxation without representation" -- independence for "Liberty Under God" -- has not been preserved.
It's an occasion for Americans to reunite with family and enjoy in midsummer holiday, with picnics, and barbecues, ball games, and golf and other recreation.
Our appreciation for what happened on hot summer day in Philadelphia, all of these years ago, is often limited to a fleeting warm feeling about an ancient generation of Americans, who against great odds stood up to a powerful oppressor, and claimed their natural right to liberty.
This is an accurate but incomplete understanding of the revolution begun that day. For written on that piece of yellow parchment is not only the bold assertion that thirteen former British colonies were and forever would remain free and independent states. But also the once-radical idea that history has a right side and wrong side, and that Americans stood and would always stand on the right side. This is accurate, but still incomplete.

Who decides what is right?

Jesus Christ? Washington D.C.? Allah?

The Signers put their names and ransomed their lives to a universal, not just a national idea. That all human beings everywhere -- not just Americans, not just the mostly well-off white men gathered in Philadelphia for the occasion -- are created equal, and endowed by their creator with certain an unalienable rights. Among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
We've not always been true that ideal and the rights guaranteed by our constitution. Slavery, Jim Crow, the disenfranchisement of women -- were betrayals of the principles enshrined in our founding documents, and had to be conquered before we could claim without qualification  to be firmly on the right side of history.
But we overcame our faults, corrected our mistakes, and in the unfinished story of our republic, we continue our progress toward a more perfect union. And in the struggle to do so, we have achieved greatness.
Our wealth and power -- unequaled by any nation before or since -- are not the cause of our greatness. Our ideals have made us great. We are strong and prosperous because we are free. Not the other way around. We have marched in fits and starts toward the right side of history, and ascended to a most exalted station in the affairs of mankind: "Leader of the free world." It's a great tribute to us but also a great responsibility.
We share a kinship of ideals with every man and woman on earth who struggles for their God given rights. The world must never doubt where we stand in the liberation struggles of our time. We stand with those who risk the anger of tyrants, and their lives for the proposition that just government is derived from the consent of the governed. That all people are entitled to equal justice under the law.
Today, we stand with the millions of Iranians who braved the taunts, imprisonment and gunfire, to have their voices heard and their votes counted. They did not ask us to arm them or come to their assistance with anything other than public declarations of solidarity, and public denunciations of the tyrants who oppress them. We have a moral obligation to do so.
There are those among us who warned that a strong and unequivocal declaration of moral support for Iranians would be used by the cruel regime in power there to convince their subject people that the United States is behind the civil unrest they have attempted to hide from the world. But the regime will make that claim no matter what we say or do.
Do they really believe Iranians don't know why they're protesting, and who is oppressing them? Do they think Iranians -- whose votes were discarded, whose voices have been ignored, whose lives have been threatened by the regime they wish to be rid of -- will think America has put them in that position? That the CIA caused a brave and idealistic young woman to step out of her car to join their protest, only to be instantly murdered by the henchmen of the regime?
The Iranians know the truth. They know who was oppressing them and why. It's a government that governs without their consent, which beats them, imprisons them, and threatens their lives to preserve its own hold on power, and not to resist some imagined foreign enemy. They are not fools, these brave and determined Iranians. They are on the right side of history. And the cynics among us, who think them fools, are on the wrong side. Liberty and justice will someday be theirs. Let us hope they will have reason to remember then who their friends were in their struggle for freedom.
This is John McCain, wishing you happy and meaningful fourth of July.

What Would America's Founding Fathers Do?

The men who threw tea into the Boston Harbor over a tax of 3 pence per pound would not be happy with a tax ten times greater on every gallon of gas. Those who took up muskets over a total tax burden of less than 3% would not be happy with the fact that the federal government now takes more than half of everything you earn.

Today it is illegal for public school teachers to teach their students that the Declaration of Independence is really true (and not just an outdated historical document). The federal government is clearly at war with everything the Founding Fathers stood for.

America's greatest Americans would abolish today's federal government.

Muskets are Not an Option

There are two reasons why we should not take up arms to pull off the violent overthrow of the federal government, even if America's Founders would surely do so. First, the feds have nukes. Second, violent revolution is unChristian and unBiblical. We must beat our swords into plowshares and use persuasion to abolish tyranny. This is time for a revolution of ideas.

Revolution Won't Come in a Day

John Adams once wrote that the American Revolution began in 1761, when Massachusetts attorney James Otis began legal challenges to the Writs of Assistance. He lost the case, but "American independence," Adams wrote, "was then and there born." Now do the math. That means it took 15 years to convince the rest of America to declare Independence (1776). Then another seven years of war was required before a Peace Treaty was signed (1783), and then six years before the Constitution was finally ratified (1789). That's almost 30 years. (And Jefferson said we shouldn't go 20 years without another rebellion!) How can we hope to convince Americans to fight for principles they were never taught in government schools? We need to be in this battle for the long term. "Eternal Vigilance is the Price of Liberty."
